The Link Between Corporate Strategies and Human Resource Management
This essay aims to demonstrate the relationship between corporate strategies and human resource management (HRM), which it will first interpret the definitions of those two terms and then describe their relationships. The relationship between these two theoretical terms will be that, HRM is an essential influential factor that determines the success of a corporate strategy. Thus, to ensure this success, the organisation needs to manage HRM strategically, which would evoke the implementation of strategic human resource management (SHRM) as it integrates strategies and HRM (Azmi, 2019). In addition, it recommends what associate approaches could be utilised to resolve potential issues that might occur.
According to (Bratton and Gold, 2019), they define that “Corporate-level strategy describes an organization’s overall direction in terms of its general philosophy towards the growth and the management of its various operating units”. As a result, a corporate strategy enables an organisation to determine what business is it in, the direction of the organisation in the industry, and also what business units should it involved within the business. Subsequently, the corporate strategy designates the organisational goals and how to motivate various business units working together to achieve those common goals
