Medical Geography
There is a famous example for medical geography. In the past, cholera killed a lot of people in London. People felt fear. A physician thought he need to find the source of cholera. If they can find the source, they will control cholera. He drew a map showing the distribution of patients. He realized that there was a water pump in the center of most patients. New cholera cases decrease a lot after he stopped the water pump.
Medical geography is closely relative to our lives, and we can find many examples in our life. My family live in China. My grandparent lived near a mine field. The air was so bad at there. The whole village has been overwhelmed by a pungent smell. Most villagers have lung disease. They cough every day, and they cannot cure their lung disease. Some villagers become better after they leave village for a long time. However, they will cough again when they come back village. My grandparent moved to another village after they had baby. They thought that the bad air will hurt their baby. New village has many trees, and the air is fresh. My grandparents’ lung disease become better after three years. Now, they do not cough every day.
