Discrimination means treating people differently and less favorably because of characteristics that are not related to their merit or the requirements of the job. These include race, color, sex, religion, political opinion, national extraction, age, disability, HIV AIDS and sexual orientation and social origin. Discrimination is prevalent so much in our societies, workplaces and homes. Often it goes unrecognized and even accepted as part of the deal or something that is normal. There are times when we don't even blink an eyelid when somebody does get discriminated. Discrimination raises its ugly head in the most advanced nations as well as the most backward. Religion which is supposed to bring more sense to humanity has discriminated against persons and races.
